LAPTOP SERVICE CENTER (LSC)
Repair – Terms and Conditions
Laptop Service Center (LSC), Orlem, Malad West
By submitting a device for repair, the Customer agrees to the following Terms and Conditions:
1. Authorization for Repair
1.1 The Customer authorizes LSC to inspect, diagnose, repair, and replace components of the submitted device as required.
1.2 By submitting the device, the Customer grants LSC permission to procure and install necessary parts including but not limited to:
Logic Board / Motherboard
Display / Screen
ICs and Circuit Components
Circuitry Repairs
Other internal hardware components
1.3 If this form is completed prior to physical inspection, all quoted amounts shall be treated as approximate estimates. Final pricing may vary after detailed inspection and diagnosis.
2. Diagnostic Charges
Diagnostic charges are fixed and non-refundable:
Windows laptops & desktops (without disassembly) – ₹500
Windows laptops & desktops and All in ones (with disassembly) – ₹1500
MacBooks & iMac (2012 & below) – ₹5500
MacBooks & iMac (2013 & above) – ₹7500
Data recovery diagnostics – ₹1500
Printer diagnostics – ₹1500
If a customer has previously submitted the device to another service center and failed to disclose this information, LSC reserves the right to charge a diagnostic fee of ₹3000.
3. Data Responsibility
3.1 The Customer is solely responsible for backing up all data prior to submission.
3.2 LSC shall not be liable for any data loss, corruption, or damage arising during or after repair.
3.3 If login credentials or personal access details are provided to LSC, it is the Customer’s sole responsibility to change all credentials upon return of the device.
4. Repairs Involving Liquid Damage
Devices damaged due to liquid spills may incur additional charges. Final costs will be determined after internal inspection.
5. Warranty Terms
Warranty applies only to specific repaired components and does not cover physical damage, liquid damage, surge damage, misuse, or recurring faults caused by external factors.
Warranty periods:
Keyboard (Riveted) – 1 Month
Keyboard (Non-Riveted) – 3 Months
Hard Disk – 1 Year
Laptop Battery & Charger – 3 Months
Motherboard Repair – 1 Month
Hinge Repairs – No Warranty
Screen – 3 Months
Mobile Repair – No Warranty
Logic board / motherboard failures caused by electrical surge are not covered under warranty. Customers are advised to use proper surge protectors, moisture prevention techniques, and socket testers.
Warranty is void if:
Full payment has not been made.
The device is opened or tampered with outside LSC.
Repair is altered by any third party.
6. Prior Repairs by Other Service Centers
LSC does not accept devices that have undergone failed repair attempts by other service centers.
If a Customer submits such a device without disclosure:
Diagnostic charges will apply.
The device may be returned without repair.
7. Restricted Service Area
The service workshop is a restricted technical area. Customers are not permitted to enter or access this area for safety and operational reasons. No pictures will be provided of any internal parts or of the repair process, since all of these come under a proprietary process of selection of parts after testing and failure.
8. Operating System & Software
Operating system and software installations are charged as one-time services. Reinstallation due to corruption, virus, or user error will incur additional charges.
9. Second-Hand Laptops
9.1 If the Customer opts for a “No Warranty” second-hand laptop, all future repairs shall be chargeable.
9.2 Performance expectations:
HDD systems: 4 minutes initial startup
SSD systems: 35 seconds initial startup
9.3 If certain components are non-functional:
Damaged speakers – External speakers may be provided
Faulty trackpad – External mouse may be provided
Damaged USB ports – External USB hub may be provided
10. Data Recovery
10.1 Basic Data Recovery covers one day of service.
10.2 Services exceeding one day are considered Advanced Data Recovery and charged accordingly.
10.3 Advanced Data Recovery includes:
BitLocker encrypted drives
APFS encrypted drives
SSD recovery
Non-detectable drives
11. Board-Level Repairs
In motherboard/logic board repairs, only components required to power on and operate the board will be repaired.
Additional components such as:
WIFI modules
RAM chips
SSDs
USB ports
Speakers
Camera
Screen
will be quoted for and charged separately if found defective.
12. Screen Replacement
While disassembling or replacing screen panel, screen damage will occur due to structural stress. The Customer acknowledges and accepts this risk.
13. Hinge & Body Repairs
While repairing hinges or body components, screen damage may occur due to structural stress. The Customer acknowledges and accepts this risk.
14. Payment & Collection Policy
14.1 All goods and services rendered by LSC are strictly non-refundable.
14.2 If payment is not completed within 7 days after repair completion and customer notification:
LSC reserves the right to sell the device (whole or parts) to recover repair costs.
14.3 If the Customer fails to collect the device within 7 days after diagnosis or repair:
The device may be marked as scrap/junk and disposed of accordingly.
14.4 No warranty shall apply unless full payment of the quoted amount is made.
15. Non-Dispute Clause
The Customer agrees not to initiate disputes against LSC through:
Credit card chargebacks
Bank reversals
Legal proceedings
Police complaints
Political or third-party intervention
16. Modifications
LSC reserves the right to amend or update these Terms and Conditions at any time to protect the rights and interests of both LSC and its Customers.
Declaration
By submitting the device for repair, the Customer confirms that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
